What do I need to do to get an advisor?
You will be assigned an advisor when you apply to the college, based upon your major and your campus. You may change your major or your advisor at any time.
When do I register?
A letter is sent to all students who have applied to the college. It includes registration information for new students. You can also look in the NW-SCC Class Schedule. It lists registration dates.
Will my courses transfer to other schools?
The state has an articulation agreement that guarantees which courses transfer. Ask your advisor or to to the STARS page listed on the left of this page. You can look at the NW-SCC Catalog to determine which courses are best for your field of study.
What should I do first?
1. Apply to the college.
2. Apply for financial aid 3 months before a semester starts.
3. Get/View the catalog and determine a major.
4. Contact the testing center for placement testing. If you made 20 or higher on the ACT Math and English test, you do not have to be tested. The placement test is free.
