WHAT IS DRAFTING & DESIGN TECHNOLOGY? |
![]()
Drafting & Design Technology encompasses some of the most changing and challenging technologies of this decade. A Drafters/Designers touch is on everything you use, from the drawings used to manufacture a product, to the blueprints used to construct a building. The way Drafters/Designers produce plans is changing and will continue to change in future decades. The job of the Drafter/Designer is no longer limited to creating neat, precise sets of drawings manually from an Engineer's rough plans. Today's Drafters and Designers must assemble sketches and written/verbal information, from Engineers, Regulatory Agents, clients, etc...into a finished set of plans and documents using Computer Aided Design techniques. So whether you are considering your first career, or looking at a new direction for the future, the Drafting and Design Department at Northwest-Shoals Community College offers flexibility and unlimited growth potential. |
