I think that the way everything runs her on campus is well organized
It would be great to have desks which are slightly larger - more area for
notebooks books etc. Also a more cohesive and collegiate-looking campus.

take timed writing when your feet cannot rest flat on floor.
This may not apply to above areas but I feel that there aren
t enough classes offered online or on the weekends or in the evenings to
accommodate students like myself who work a 3-11 fulltime shift and has 2
small children to rear.

Each classroom need to have their own thermostats. Having 1 thermostat for 2
classrooms makes 1 classroom too cold and the other too hot.
The only problem i have with the upkeep of the
buildings is the restrooms. The ladies room is awful! It kind of makes you
not want to use them.

very little student life at the Muscle Shoals campus.

Bigger Classrooms for Cos Classes
The Phil Campbell campus financial aid office workers are rude and they are
not able to answer questions when asked. They have messed up several student
s students loans causes problems for tuition. The
Muscle Shoals campus is the most efficient financial aid office. Please teach
the Phil Campbell campus what they need to be doing. The class room desks
need to be updated. There is not enough room to have a text book and a note
book out at the same time especially if you are in the AV rooms. In the
regular class rooms there is not enough room between isles for people to walk
through because of the backpacks. There should be enough space left between
each row to accomadate for both. In the library
there needs to be more than one copier on the Phil Campbell campus. And if
class power points are not provided on line in time for us to print out at
home we should not have to pay 10 cents a page to print them out it should be
provided for us in class. A graduation ceremony should not be at 8am in the
morning some students live over an hour away and that is very early. Some
family members may have a hard time finding the school in Phil Campbell if
they live out of town and that is really to early for them. The ceremony
should at least wait until 10pm or have it at 6-7pm at night. Advisors are
not advising. Most of them are giving the wrong advise
about taking classes and some students are taking classes that are not
required and missing the ones that are. This causes the student time and
money. The college should eat the cost if this occurs. The advisors should
know what they are talking about or find the answer then get back with the
student. The grievence process is a joke. The
student is not advised of this and is given a hard time when they want to
utilize it. The Assistant Dean of Instruction is very difficult to get an
appointment with and when you try to schedule appointments you should only
have to give your name and when you can come. The complaint you have should
be between the student and the Assistant Dean of Instruction. Students should
be taken seriously this is not a high school it is a college and adults
should be treated like adults. I have recieved two
certificates and will soon recieve an associates degree from NWSCC and this admission has been
the one with the most problems to occur. I think that NWSCC is overall a
wonderful school and I chose this college because of the teachers. I feel
like the issues I have written about should be addressed to make the college
more appealing to other future students.
There is way to many people in some classes. I feel
like this takes away from me learning because there isnt
enough room to move around in some of the labs. I also think that when you
start to college you should be told exactly what classes you have to take. It
shouldnt be half way through the semester when you
find out you have to have another class or you are in the wrong class.
The campus needs more parking. And stop taking the parking we have and
turning it into Staff parking.
i believe if they had more
cameras in the classrooms and cleaner restrooms because they are just nasty
and stink. The cosmetology department is extremely to
crowded. The classrooms stay so hot you cant breath.
The people are very nice and help you. my advisor is
sweet but is confused about some classes we need to take in the cosmetology
department. The plug ins in mr.sharps room half dont work and it maked is hard
for you to get your work finished properly and our stations are to close
together and way to many people in one room. The esthetics room is worse than
the cosmetology. We have around 35 or 40 students in that tiny room and it
makes it harder to do your work and move around to do your work. The last
thing i would like to say is having t make up our
time we miss makes it hard because all of us get sick and have family
emergencies i believe as long as you get your work
done and make good grades you should pass not fail because you missed one to
many days. Atleast except doctor notes and be
excused. I understand they try to get you prepared for a job but jobs except
doctor excuses and so should school. why i said The
security wasnt the best is because I got my purse

semesters ago and havent heard anything. This
school needs alot of improvments

Assign an advisor for students who plan to transfer to Wallace State
who is very knowledgeable about the requirements of the programs and who
wants to get involved with the students and help them make sure they have
everything in order. I took the fall semester off so admissions told me I
needed to come in and update my application for the spring. At spring
registration they asked me to fill out the same form that they had me come in
and fill out previously. I was already worried about getting in to the class
I needed since I didn t get to pre-register and there
was only one spot left in the class. That extra time refilling out the form
they already had me come in and fill out could have cost me getting into the
class and subsequently another year getting into the program.

comfortable temp and is difficult to get changes in temp from employees. staff states the control of temp is maintained at shoals

Certain employees in the Fincial Aid office do not
like to help at times. She often is rude on the telephone or seems as if I
should know the answers to the questions that I asked her. This is my first
college experience and she was not very nice or helpful to me. Ms. Jackson
was not willing to help me get the money that I needed to be a full time
student at NWSCC. I had to find other means of getting the money to attend by
borrowing from family and the bank.

I think Marcia Nesbitt needs the position of teaching literature taken away
and she needs to stick with English Comp. The literature teachers need to be
more like Mr. Kelley.
I would like to see the more punctual teachers on this campus. I think it is
sad that students are taught to be puntual
throughout grade school and when in college we sit and wait on our teacher to
get to class. Thats in
more than one class around here. The parking lots on campus were not well
thought out either.
Some rooms have seating that is very uncomfortable to sit in and it hurts to
sit for a the hour and half that you have to sit
during classes.
