Admissions

We can help!

Whether you plan to enroll in college for the first time, transfer to Northwest-Shoals Community College (NW-SCC) from another institution, return to school after time off, or are a current NW-SCC student, we can help!

We are located in the Wallace Administration Building (301) on the Phil Campbell campus and the Victor P. Poole Administration Building (100) on the Shoals campus.

Applying to NW-SCC

You can submit applications for admission electronically via MyNW-SCC. Applicants must submit an unexpired, government-issued photo ID prior to the end of their first semester.

Documents can be presented in person or mailed (a copy of the applicant’s unexpired, government-issued photo ID must be included), or you can submit a legible copy electronically.

For additional information, see the program descriptions in our Catalog and/or contact the specific program director/chairperson.

We look forward to helping you throughout your educational journey!

Your Admission Checklist

If a student wishes to allow NW-SCC to release records to parents, grandparents, spouse, guardians, or other specified individuals, they must complete and submit the Release of Personal Information form.

International Students

International students should complete the Printable Admission Application and deliver it to the Admissions Office on the Shoals Campus.

Admissions Policies

Northwest-Shoals Community College has an open-door admissions policy for all U.S. Citizens and eligible Non-Citizens. We provide higher education for individuals who meet minimum admission requirements as set forth by the policies of the Alabama Community College system.

The College does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, color, age, sex, disability or national origin. However, the College reserves the right to individually review an applicant’s admission application based on whether that admission would be prejudicial to the general welfare of the College.

Acceptance or admission to the College does not mean acceptance to certain health education programs such as Nursing, Practical Nursing, Emergency Medical Services, Medical Assisting Technology, Radiology and Sonography. These programs may have additional standards for admission and progression.

Any and all elements of admission requirements are subject to change without prior notice.

For more information, please see the college catalog.
