Admissions Policies

Northwest Shoals Community College has an open-door admissions policy for all U.S. Citizens and eligible Non-Citizens. We provide higher education for individuals who meet minimum admission requirements as set forth by the policies of the Alabama Community College system.

The College does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, color, age, sex, disability or national origin. However, the College reserves the right to individually review an applicant’s admission application based on whether that admission would be prejudicial to the general welfare of the College.

Acceptance or admission to the College does not mean acceptance to certain health education programs such as Nursing, Practical Nursing, Emergency Medical Services, Medical Assisting Technology, Radiology and Sonography. These programs may have additional standards for admission and progression.

Any and all elements of admission requirements are subject to change without prior notice.

For more information, please see the college catalog.
