Spring 2023, Summer 2023 & Fall 2023

Ready to get started at Northwest-Shoals?

The first step is to complete the application for admission at the link below.

If you would like to give permission to release your NWSCC records to parents, grandparents, spouse, and/or guardians, and other specified individuals, please complete this form and submit to admissions@nwscc.edu.

Nondiscrimination Policy

It is the official policy of the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education and Northwest Shoals Community College that no person in Alabama shall on the grounds of race, color, disability, sex, religion, creed, national origin, or age, be excluded from participation, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program, activity, or employment. The College complies with nondiscriminatory regulations under Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; Title IX Education Amendment of 1972; Section 504 Rehabilitation Act of 1973; and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.

International Students

International students will submit an online admissions application, but have additional admission requirements that must be fulfilled prior to being accepted to the college. Those documents must be presented to the Admissions Office on the Shoals campus.

Transfer Students

An applicant who has previously attended another regionally accredited college will be considered a transfer student and will be required to furnish official transcripts of all work attempted at all said institutions. Transfer students will also be required to submit the documents required of first-time college students including Selective Service documentation, if applicable.

Students who are currently attending another college or university who would like to take courses at NWSCC to transfer to their primary college should review the information on transient students.

Transient Students

Students who attend another college full-time and wish to earn credits at NWSCC to transfer to their primary college may be admitted to NWSCC as transient students. The student must submit an application for admission to NWSCC and provide a transient letter from the primary college that certifies that the credits they earn will be accepted as a part of their academic program. The transient permission form must be properly signed by the appropriate official at the parent institution and must list the specific College course(s) for which the student has been approved to enroll. Transient students are not required to submit transcripts.

See the current College Catalog Admission section for additional information.
