Applying for FAFSA

To apply for Federal Assistance, students must have filed a FAFSA online at www.studentaid.gov.  After a FAFSA is processed, a SAR is issued with the student’s Expected Family Contribution.

  • 2022-2023 FAFSA (Fall 2022, Spring 2022, and Summer 2022) requires 2020 Tax Return Information.
  • 2023-2024 FAFSA (Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024) requires 2021 Tax Return Information.

To ensure financial aid is processed prior to the beginning of classes, a FAFSA should be completed two (2) months before the next semester begins.  Applying early will help ensure a timely response to federal guidelines and allow for any unforeseen problems/situations that might occur.  Applying early will also help the student avoid potential long lines or waits.

Please Note: The IRS Data Retrieval Tool is the best way to report tax return information on the FAFSA.
