Mark Lee Legacy Field at Patriot Park

Patriots Baseball was one of the first athletics team established after the return of the Northwest Shoals Community College Athletics program in October of 2021.

Fall exhibition season starts in September each year with conference play beginning in late February or March. NWSCC is currently a member of the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) and will compete against various opponents within the ACCC, National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Coaches & Managers

David Langston

David Langston – Head Coach
Langston, a native of Jasper, Ala., has coached baseball on the community college and high school level for the past 26 years. He served as head baseball coach at NWSCC for 11 years. In those 11 seasons, Langston led the Patriots to a record of 359-185 which included five Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) championships and two regional Coach of the Year awards. During his time at NWSCC, over 70 players signed baseball scholarships to four year colleges.

Lane Dickerson

Lane Dickerson – Assistant Coach
Coach Lane Dickerson is a 2015 graduate of Colbert County High School. Dickerson played at Marion Military Institute and continued his career at Murray State. He recently finished his second stint coaching at John A. Logan Community College in Illinois. There he served for three seasons as an Assistant Coach for the Volunteer baseball program. Dickerson also
worked for one year as an assistant coach at Frontier Community College.

Peyton Thomas

Peyton Thomas – Assistant Coach
Thomas was a graduate of Phil Campbell High School and was a four-time, first-team
all-state honoree, Class 2A Hitter of the Year, two-time Times Daily Hitter of the Year. Coach Thomas just finished his playing career at the University of North Alabama. He played five years (2018-2023) and was a part of the first DI recruiting class at UNA. He graduated with a degree in Sports & Recreational Management.
