Apprenticeship Manager with student

The Machinist Apprenticeship Program is a Partnership between Northwest Shoals Community College (NWSCC) and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW).

In order to meet the growing demand for machinists in the Shoals area, a free on-the-job training program has been created for prospective students in this field. This is a four-year program with three years spent with time both in the classroom and on-the-job with the final year spent entirely in on-the-the job training. It will consist of students working full time during the day and going to school at night.

Applicants to the program must be at least 18 years of age, have good math skills, be able to pass a drug test, and pass a background test for nuclear plant clearance. The inaugural program began in February 2019.

To apply, applicants will be able to visit the below link during open application periods.
