MUSCLE SHOALS, ALA. — Northwest-Shoals Community College (NW-SCC) will offer an evening bachelor’s degree program on the Shoals campus through Huntingdon College in January. Earlier today, the two colleges signed an agreement that will provide students with an accelerated path to earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.
The college is the newest partner in Huntingdon College Evening Bachelor’s Degree (EBD) Program. Classes are scheduled throughout the year on the Shoals Campus starting in January 2020. The courses are in an accelerated format to allow students to attend class one-night-a-week. This will allow them to complete their Business Management bachelor’s degree in a traditional time frame.
“We are so excited to partner with Northwest-Shoals on our Evening Bachelor’s Degree Program,” stated Huntingdon College President J. Cameron West. “We look forward to working with many of their outstanding students.”
NW-SCC President Dr. Glenda Colagross echoed President West’s sentiments, “We are very excited to partner with Huntingdon College and offer this great opportunity to our alumni and current students,” stated Colagross. “Our students now have an opportunity to stay on campus and complete their bachelor’s degree. This is another example of how we put our students at Northwest-Shoals first. We are always looking for ways to offer them the best educational opportunities we can.”
The EBD program is part of the Department of Evening Studies in the W. James Samford, Jr. School of Business and Professional Studies at Huntingdon College. There is no charge to apply for the program. Students can apply online at www.huntingdon.edu/evening.
“Northwest-Shoals is Huntingdon’s tenth off-campus site around the state,” said Dr. Maureen Murphy, Site Coordinator for the Huntingdon College EBD Program.
Tuition is $269 per credit hour and the program is Pell Grant eligible. Spring 2020 classes for Session I on the NW-SCC Shoals campus start on January 13, 2020, and end on February 14, 2019. There are three five-week sessions each semester.
