MUSCLE SHOALS, ALA. & PHIL CAMPBELL, ALA. — Northwest-Shoals Community College (NW-SCC) is partnering with Barnes & Noble College (BNC), a Barnes & Noble Education company, to operate the college bookstore on the Shoals and Phil Campbell campus, effective July 1, 2021.
Through this new partnership, Barnes & Noble College will offer a suite of innovative programs and services that will support academic success for students and faculty, while delivering the latest assortment of electronics and school supplies for the NW-SCC community.
“We are excited to partner with Barnes & Noble College,” said NW-SCC President Dr. Glenda Colagross. “They are the industry standard for bookstores on college campuses across the nation. We feel like their processes and customer service will enhance our faculty and students’ experience online and on campus.”
As an academic and social hub on campus, the NW-SCC Bookstore will ensure students and faculty are supported with everything they need to succeed, including: the industry’s largest inventory of affordable physical and digital course materials backed by a price match program, convenient options for ordering and receiving materials such as pick up in store, curbside or delivery, and meeting spaces and events to support learning and social engagement.
Faculty will gain access to the market-leading BNC Adoption & Insights Portal (AIP), which allows them to easily research and submit affordable course material selections, further driving choice and student success. AIP will also provide NW-SCC academic leadership with the ability to view real-time adoption rates and submission progress at the school or departmental level and communicate directly with faculty from within the portal.
“We are thrilled to become a part of the Northwest-Shoals Community College community,” said Lisa Malat, President of Barnes & Noble College. NW-SCC is an institution that provides academic, career technical and lifelong educational opportunities, and we look forward to joining our new partner in delivering forward-thinking solutions that can help students succeed in the classroom and beyond.”
BNC operates more than 770 campus bookstores and school-branded e-commerce sites, serving more than 6 million college students and faculty nationwide.
BNC will replace Follett, which has managed the NW-SCC course materials, campus and online bookstore operations since 2011.
