
Event: Northwest Shoals Community College (NWSCC) Adult Education Program will hold the 2020-2021 GED/Nontraditional High School Graduation ceremony Thursday, July 29, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. Due to precautionary measures, the ceremony has been moved to the front lawn of the Muscle Shoals Campus in front of Building 127.
According to the NWSCC Adult Education Program, 138 students have completed requirements for their GED from May of 2019 through July of 2021. An additional 14 students have completed requirements for the nontraditional high school diploma. Approximately 50 students plan to participate in graduation ceremonies.
The nontraditional high school diploma was rolled out by the state at the end of 2016. The nontraditional high school diploma helps students who either dropped out of high school without earning the necessary credits to graduate or did not pass one or all parts of the Alabama High School Graduation Exam (which is no longer given).
When: The graduation ceremony will be held Thursday, July 29, at 6:00 p.m.
Where: Due to precautionary measures, the ceremony has been moved to the front lawn of the Muscle Shoals Campus in front of Building 127.
