MUSCLE SHOALS & PHIL CAMPBELL, ALA. – Northwest Shoals Community College (NWSCC) announced Monday (4/12) it will host traditional in-person commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 15, on the Shoals campus of NWSCC.

Ceremonies will be held outdoors at the front of the Shoals campus at 8:30 a.m. for the Nursing Graduation and Pinning Ceremony. All other graduates will attend ceremonies at 11:00 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. Additional ceremonies may be added to the day if necessary. Graduates from the summer semester of 2019 through spring semester of 2021 will be recognized.  

“It is so exciting to be able to honor our graduates during a traditional ceremony for their educational achievements,” said Dr. Glenda Colagross, NWSCC President. “Our students have worked so hard to get to this point. It is truly amazing considering everything they overcame in the past year. Commencement is so important to our graduates and their families, and we look forward to welcoming them to campus on May 15th.”

All NWSCC students that graduated during the summer semester of 2019 through spring semester of 2021 are requested to complete the graduation online form at https://calendly.com/crystalreed/nwsccgrad by May 5, 2021. They are able to select which commencement ceremony they would like to attend. 

Caps and gowns can be picked up in the Campus Career Center which is located on the Shoals campus. All ceremonies will be live streamed on Facebook.

Social distancing will be required for all guests and graduates as a precaution against the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Guests are encouraged to bring outdoor folding chairs. The College will also provide folding chairs.
