Northwest Shoals Community College will host the annual commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 9, 2024, on the Shoals Campus.

Graduation at Northwest Shoals Community College is a process that occurs upon successful completion of program/GPA requirements. Once a student receives graduation clearance from the Registrar, the certificate and/or degree will be awarded, transcript updated, and diploma mailed. Students who have or will meet graduation requirements in the summer or fall of 2023 or spring of 2024 are eligible to participate in the ceremony.

To facilitate the timely awarding of credentials and preparation of ceremony materials, students are encouraged to submit a graduation review/registration form at the link below by April 22, 2024. This includes students:

  • Enrolled in spring 2024 courses who expect to complete a certificate or degree.
  • Who earned a certificate or degree in summer or fall of 2023.

 Commencement/Graduation Ceremony

Northwest Shoals Community College hosts a commencement ceremony for graduates one time per year in the spring. Students who earn a certificate and/or degree during the summer or fall of 2023 and/or the spring of 2024 will be eligible to participate. The spring 2024 commencement/graduation ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 on our Shoals campus. As the date nears, students who have submitted the “graduation review/registration” and have met program requirements will receive information about the ceremony.

Each semester the Registrar and designated staff will complete a graduation review for students who are on track to earn a credential during the term. Upon verifying program and GPA requirements, the Registrar will update the student record and after semester grades have posted, will provide clearance to award a degree and/or certificate. Diplomas will be mailed via
Parchment, our third-party diploma/transcript provider, 5-7 weeks after the semester ends.
