Congratulations on being accepted to Northwest Shoals!

We understand you have questions and may need help as you transition to college, even if you’ve been dual enrolled or have taken classes at another school. To ensure you have a positive experience at Northwest Shoals Community College (NWSCC), we offer Patriot Prep sessions to all incoming students.

We encourage you to sign up for a session where you will:

  • Connect with NWSCC staff and meet fellow Patriots
  • Access your myNWSCC account and get tips on navigating your student portal
  • Receive tips to help you succeed during your first semester and beyond
  • Get information about how pay for college
  • Meet with a Student Success Coach to learn about your program requirements and register for classes.

Please sign-up at the link below using the personal email address you used to complete your admissions application. An admissions application for the upcoming term must be on file to attend.

Sessions are approximately 2.5 hours in length and will be available from March to August. Space is limited and registration is required. Once a session fills, it will close, but if a session does not fill, it will close two days prior to the event date to allow our staff time to prepare for your arrival.

Parents & Guests

College isn’t something you do without support and we know you may have parents and guests who want to share the experience with you. While the Patriot Prep sessions are for incoming students, a series of separate Patriot Parent Prep sessions will provide a separate agenda that includes topics that have more interest to a parent or guardian. Topics that will be covered are Financial Aid, Business Office, FERPA, ADA, Student Services, support resources, high school to college transition tips, and more! Parents and guests will also have the opportunity to be involved in a question-and-answer discussion with our staff.
