Distance Education Testing
Most distance education courses require at least one on-campus exam. These exams may be taken in the Competency Testing Center on either the Shoals or Phil Campbell campus (in-person or virtually). The Shoals Campus Testing Center is located in Building 127, between Building 112 and Building 107 (the Child Development Center). The Phil Campbell Campus Testing Center is located in the Administration Building (301). Students should make an appointment at least two days in advance to take exams. Current distance students may schedule appointments by using the links below or in their Moodle classes.
The Shoals campus testing lab will not keep any personal items in the lab office while you are testing. You should leave any personal items in your vehicle. This includes phones, smart watches, backpacks, hats, headphones, purse/wallet, flash drives, or books/notes (unless specified by your instructor). You also cannot bring children to the testing center. The only items you should have with you at the lab are your Photo ID, items allowed by your instructor such as books, notes, or calculator, and car keys. Your photo ID can be your NWSCC BankMobile Disbursements ID Card, Driver’s License, Military ID, or Passport. The ID must not be expired and must be a hard copy; no paper ID will be accepted. You also need to make sure that you have your ‘A’ number (student number) memorized or with you.
